4th of July at Walt Disney World
4th of July at Walt Disney World
Not surprisingly, the Fourth of July is a very popular time to visit Disney World. Yes, it will be hot. And yes, there will be crowds. But as a reward for putting up with the heat and long lines, there are some special events for Independence Day holiday visitors. Here’s a rundown of planned special events:
At the Magic Kingdom, the fireworks extravaganza “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” will color the skies with red, white, and blue at 9:00 pm on July 3 and July 4. The show is accompanied by patriotic music.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the musical landscape performers Mulch, Sweat, and Shears will perform “Rockin’ 4th of July Celebration!” The show is billed as a rock and roll road trip across the nation highlighting the different regions of the country that have contributed to the rock and roll music landscape of America. The show includes music, fireworks, custom lighting, and special effects. The show will take place between the two Fantasmic! Shows on July 4th. The first Fantasmic show is at 9:00 pm, the “Rockin’ 4th of July Celebration!” is at 9:45 pm, and the second Fantasmic! Performance is at 10:30 pm.
At Epcot, the regular nighttime show “Illuminations: Reflections of Earth” will feature a show enhancement called “The Heartbeat of Freedom,” which is billed as “an overture of traditional Americana themes displayed in a pyrotechnic and laser and light event.” Epcot’s signature singing group Voices of Liberty will perform “Voices of Liberty 4th of July Concert.” The show will feature historical characters and Disney characters dressed in patriotic garb.
If you’re heading to one of the Walt Disney World parks, you’re sure to have a great time, but heed one word of advice. Get there early. These parks can fill up to capacity on busy weekends such as this one.
