Disney Raises Ticket Prices

As it has done for the past couple years, Disney World has instituted a price hike for tickets to the theme park. The price for a one-day, adult park ticket has been raised from $75 to $79, a 3.5 percent price hike. The price of a child's one-day ticket has also been raised, from $63 to $68, which represents a 7.5 percent hike. Prices have also been raised for multi-day tickets as well, anywhere from 2.6 to 4.7 percent.

The last price increase for tickets was August 2008. Disney spokeswoman Kim Prunty told the Orlando Sentinel that the park tickets continue to represent good value for visitors, even with the most recent increases. Prunty said, "We survey our guests regularly and, in our research, nearly nine out of 10 guests rate the value of our theme parks as good, very good or excellent. Our pricing is based on the high-quality experience we deliver to our guests, and our guests continue to agree that a ticket to Walt Disney World represents a great entertainment value."

Disney last raised its admission prices in August 2008. It is believed that several other Orlando area theme parks, including SeaWorld and Universal, may follow suit.
