Earth Day at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Earth Day at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando will be celebrating Earth Day on April 22 with a variety of activities.

The “Party for the Planet” celebration will enable guests to learn more about how they can celebrate and save the planet in their own daily lives.
Longtime favorite Jiminy Cricket will have a meet and greet with guests at the entrance of the park from 9 am to 1 pm. Kid-favorite folk singer Gi-Tar Dan will be performing songs about wildlife at various spots during the day as well.

Jiminy Cricket will also be in Rafiki’s Planet Watch from 2 pm to 5 pm. Rafiki’s Planet Watch is a great area of the park where guests can see “behind the scenes” how the animals are cared for and preserved. Along with Jiminy Cricket, Pocahontas and Rafiki are often onhand for meet and greets. There’s even a petting zoo where kids can learn how to help care for animals.
If you plan on being at Animal Kingdom in the new future, look for a new baby gorilla! Disney’s Animal Kingdom has recently welcomed a new addition to its animal family--Gorilla Kashata recently gave birth to a new baby—mom and baby can be seen in the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail at the park.
