Happy Haunting at Downtown Disney
Happy Haunting at Downtown Disney
Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World will offer little ghosts and ghouls the opportunity to trick or treat for free on October 30 and 31 during the Happy Haunting days. Kids can dress up in their costumes and hit the streets of Downtown Disney during the early evening hours. They can collect candy and treats from a variety of Downtown Disney locations--tentative locations are Disney's Days of Christmas, World of Memories, DisneyQuest Emporium, Once Upon a Toy, Team Mickey, World of Disney, Pooh Corner, and Pin Traders. More locations may be added.
Finals plans are in the works, but last year, there was storytelling, a magician, and a comedian also participating in the festivities. Stilt walkers in skeleton costumes mingled throughout the crowds and there was a dance party with a DJ. While there are no doubt to be new surprises for Halloween 2009, visitors can count on a festive atmosphere and one that's safe and kid-friendly as well. More parents are opting for a controlled trick-or-treat experience for their little ones like this one in Downtown Disney as opposed to going door-to-door looking for treats.
