Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando

Universal Orlando ushered in the Halloween season with the launch of Halloween Horror Nights. The theme for 2009 is horror films and how they've terrified us all over the years.

One of the biggest horror franchises in recent years, the Saw films, are well-represented at the Horror Nights attractions. The Saw movies are gorefests based on a demented character, Jigsaw, who mentally and physically tortures those unfortunate enough to find their way into his lair. Another installment of the Saw films will debut on October 23, so choosing to feature Saw in the attractions was not by coincidence. Guests will also find themselves in Jigsaw's lair, and then follow a maze to get out of Jigsaw's workshop. The details of this attraction mirror the film down to every terrifying detail.

Also featured at Halloween Horror Nights are the classic, but still scary, horror films. Dracula, Wolfman, and Frankenstein are represented. Frankenstein can be seen in an old castle and Dracula is housed at the gothic Legacy of Blood house. The character of Dracula is based on the original vampire, Vlad the Impaler.

All in all, there are eight horror houses for guests to explore during Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando.
