Orlando businessman Jim Hewitt approached Philadelphia 76ers general manager Pat Williams about helping him bring a NBA franchise to Orlando. William duPont III also played a key role in having the expansion team brought to Orlando. It is estimated that the expansion fee was a hefty $32 million dollars. That's a lot of money, but it’s also a lot of fun too.

Quickly Orlando Magic tickets became some of the hottest tickets in town (and that is quite a feat considering all the hot entertainment tickets in Orlando!) By July of 1986, the name "Magic" was chosen from nearly 4,300 contest entries. Another proposed name under consideration was the “Orlando Tropics.”

Founded in 1989, the Orlando Magic has already established itself as a force in the NBA's Southeast Division, winning four division titles in 1995, 1996, 2008 and 2009, as well as a Conference title in 1995. Some of the best players in recent memory have been with the Orlando Magic, including such household names as Shaquille O' Neal, Anfernee Hardaway and Tracy McGrady. Today, Dwight Howard leads this young team once again into the playoffs. Not bad for such a young franchise.

If your order was placed within 5 days of your scheduled performance, please print a copy of your confirmation email as proof of purchase for your show. A COPY OF YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAIL AND VALID PHOTO I.D. OF THE VOUCHER RECIPIENT ARE REQUIRED TO RETRIEVE YOUR SHOW TICKETS AT THE BOX OFFICE.
